Description

Rope Rescue II – Operational Leadership is an advanced-level offering for previous RfR alums. Participants in this seminar can expect a detailed examination of ropework physics and principles. A strong emphasis will be placed on team leadership development through exercises designed to broaden abilities in scene size-up, command and control, and team briefing. Specific techniques commonly include various aerial suspension systems (e.g. Highline and Guiding Line), construction and use of artificial high directional devices, advanced litter-handling, and more challenging anchoring scenarios, just to name a few.

Each day will be carefully crafted to include a balanced mix of lecture, discussion, and demonstration, typical of all Rigging for Rescue seminars & workshops. Daily field sessions are designed to offer maximum opportunity for participants to interact with the material in a challenging manner. High quality debriefings will optimize retention of the learning objectives.

Rope Rescue II – Operational Leadership curriculum includes skills outlined in NFPA 1006-2021 edition, Technician Level for Rope Rescue. Additionally, the seminar content meets and exceeds the ASTM F2955 – Standard Guide for Training for Advanced Rope Rescuer Endorsement.
