Rigging for Rescue

Ski Patrol Workshop

The Rigging for Rescue Ski Patrol Workshop is a customizable program designed to address the challenging ropework and lift evacuation challenges at North American ski resorts.  Many ski areas have in-area cliff features that strand skiers into difficult to extricate scenarios.  Securely accessing these skiers often necessitates ropework and rigging.

Common topics and techniques covered in our Ski Patrol Workshop include:

  • Appropriateness of two-rope vs single-rope techniques
  • Improvised anchoring (e.g. snow anchors, vegetation, etc.)
  • Patient packaging for high angle litter evacuation
  • Lift evacuation procedures using cable-riding via Rollcab
  • And aerial suspension systems for addressing high hazard terrain traps (i.e. creek beds; severely traversing terrain)
  • and more!

Rigging for Rescue has a long history of training ski patrols across the country. Please Contact Us for more information on how we can customize a ropework training event specific to your terrain challenges.
